Palestinian and Ukrainian Children, a tale of two kids in dire times
Lt. General Roméo Dallaire, a renowned Canadian officer and witness to history, who was assigned as the force commander in the United Nations Assistance Mission to Rwanda (UNAMIR) - 1994, a UN peacekeeping mission, wrote in his Book "Shake Hands with the Devil": “As I was trying to persuade Agathe Uwilingiyimana, Rwanda's Prime Minister, to evacuate with her family as their lives were in imminent danger, she refused to leave her people. She blamed the Western world for abandoning Rwanda.”
She added, "Imagine you are walking in the street, and you see an African child in rags and dirt. You will look away, pretending the kid does not exist. But instead, if you see a young European girl in a lovely dress, you will smile and play with her. That is Rwanda, the African child." – Madam Agathe and her family were brutally butchered in their house by the extremist Rwanda's majority Hutu tribes members who planned to kill the minority Tutsi population and anyone who opposed the ethnic cleansing and Genocide.
The ongoing crisis in Palestine cannot be resolved through social media, lengthy analysis, theories, and speeches. The world agrees that Hamas is a terrorist group, and they have not only attacked Israeli civilians but have driven the Palestinian people, Children, Women, seniors, and men to their doom. Nevertheless, the Israeli army, known by the abbreviation IDF, where "D" stands for "Destruction," now is committing a massive collective punishment, a new genocide in cold blood against civilians, innocent people whose utmost wish is to have a peaceful life with their children who are now hungry, in their homes, which are now destroyed.
Like a mother preparing for her daughter's wedding, but not only is the wedding canceled, the groom and his family have all died in one of the air raids by the IDF. No more playgrounds for children but instead mass graves, no more sweets or toys for children, only blood, bomb fragments, and lifetime scars. The football team from the High school cannot play anymore because most of its members lost limbs. Fathers can no longer hold their little princesses' tiny hands while walking them to school or carrying them on their shoulders, going to buy them ice cream on the weekend. Even the little girls' red hair ties are burned to ashes. End Hamas, but do not end the Palestinians.
All is happening under the nose of the civilized world, the greatest democracies, the nations that taught the world humanity and human rights; what an irony. But no, it's not irony, it's a Déjà vu from the 30s in the same region by Zionist gangs. It's the same scene in the Cambodian genocide of 1975, where three million were killed. Rwanda's ethnic cleansing, eight hundred thousand were butchered in One hundred days. The horrific apartheid in South Africa started in 1913 and lasted until 1994.
Needless to point out, one of the most terrible genocides in history against millions of Jews during WWII, those same people are now committing the same crime against humanity.
As we witness a new twenty-first-century genocide and atrocity against humanity, we remember Rwanda's Prime minister's words to Roméo Dallaire and wonder why the Western civilization is looking at the Ukrainian children as the white girl that they want to play with; however, the Palestinian Children as the African kid in rags!
